Working Principle: The voltage signal from the field device is fed directly to the 16-bit A/D converter input (high impedance, 1 MΩ). The A/D converts the analog voltage to a digital value and transmits it to the Experion PKS controller via the backplane. The per-channel digital filter averages samples to reduce noise.
