Functional Features:
- Water-cooled design — enables continuous high-torque operation without derating
- Multiturn absolute encoder — position known after power-off (no homing required)
- Hiperface DSL interface — high-speed, noise-immune encoder communication
- High overload capacity — 3x rated torque for short duration
- Integrated temperature sensor (PTC) in winding
- Compatible with Baumuller b maXX 5000 and b maXX 6000 servo drives
Working Principle:
The three-phase stator windings are energized by a servo drive to create a rotating magnetic field. The permanent magnet rotor follows this field synchronously. The water-cooled jacket removes heat directly from the stator, allowing continuous rated power output without thermal derating. The absolute encoder tracks position across power cycles, enabling instant operation after startup.
Advantages:
- Water cooling eliminates thermal derating — full power at all speeds
- Absolute encoder — no homing sequence required
- Class H insulation — 180°C thermal rating for high reliability
- IP65 — suitable for harsh industrial environments
Applicable Industries:
Metal forming (presses, shears), plastic injection molding, printing presses, wind tunnel drives, heavy-duty CNC machines, marine propulsion
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on rigid base with 4x M10 mounting holes (165mm flange pattern)
- Connect cooling water circuit: 2 bar pressure, 3 L/min flow, 20°C inlet
- Use shielded encoder cable (Hiperface DSL, max 50m)
- Couple to load via torsionally stiff coupling (max 0.05mm misalignment)
- Ground motor frame and coolant pipes
Usage Notes:
- Never run motor without coolant flow — will overheat in <30 seconds
- Use deionized water to prevent internal corrosion
- Perform encoder alignment after mechanical installation
- Monitor coolant temperature — shut down if >35°C inlet
