Functional Features:
- Dual-channel simultaneous measurement for X-Y orbit plotting
- Built-in zero-gap calibration reference
- Temperature-compensated output for stable readings
- Conforms to API 670 and API 617 standards
- Barrier-type probe design for oil-filled environments
- Integrated drive electronics in the driver housing
Working Principle:
The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field (typically 1–2 MHz). When a conductive target (shaft) approaches, eddy currents are induced in the shaft surface, altering the probe’s impedance. The driver electronics convert this impedance change into a proportional DC voltage output representing shaft displacement.
Advantages:
- Non-contact measurement — zero wear, infinite life
- High-frequency response captures full vibration spectrum
- Dual-channel enables orbit analysis and shaft centerline tracking
- Robust construction for severe industrial environments
Applicable Industries:
Power generation (steam/gas turbines), oil & gas (compressors, pumps), petrochemical, mining, paper & pulp
Installation Requirements:
- Mount probe in flush-mounted holder perpendicular to shaft surface
- Maintain probe gap (target distance) within calibration range (typically 1.0 mm ± 10%)
- Use coaxial extension cable (supplied) — do not substitute
- Route cables away from high-voltage power lines (minimum 300mm separation)
- Ensure proper grounding of driver and extension cable shield
Usage Notes:
- Never power the system with the probe disconnected — this will damage the driver
- Perform initial gap voltage (IGV) calibration at operating temperature
- Verify probe linearity during commissioning
- Replace probe if gap voltage drifts beyond ±10% of calibration value
