Working Principle

The 05701-A-0361 uses a silicon piezoresistive sensing element bonded to a ceramic diaphragm. When pressure is applied to the diaphragm, the silicon strain gauges experience mechanical deformation, causing a change in electrical resistance. This resistance change is detected by a Wheatstone bridge circuit integrated on the ceramic substrate. The bridge output is a millivolt-level signal proportional to applied pressure. An on-board signal conditioning ASIC amplifies the bridge output, applies temperature compensation, linearizes the signal, and converts it to a 4–20 mA current loop output or 0.5–4.5 VDC voltage output. The ASIC also provides reverse polarity protection, overvoltage protection, and EMC filtering.
